Electronics Engineering

Electronics is the technology associated with electronic circuits and systems, and is one of the major branches of electrical engineering. It is a discipline that uses scientific knowledge of the behavior and effects of electrons to create components, devices, systems or equipment that use electricity as a part of their source of power. These components include capacitors, diodes, resistors and transistors.

Electronics engineers research, design, develop and test precision components and systems, developing the way electricity is used to control equipment.

Core Electronics subjects include Digital Electronics and Logic design, Fundamentals of Communication Engineering, Electronic Circuits, Signals and Systems, Power Electronics, Applied Electromagnetic Theory, Integrated Circuits, VLSI, Control Systems and Computer Architecture. Moreover, it also has some courses from Electrical Engineering Dept.

Electronics touches on almost all areas of human activity, so its applications are diverse. These include acoustics, defence, medical instruments, mobile phones, nanotechnology, radio and satellite communication and robotics. Subfields of electronics engineering include control engineering, instrumentation, signal processing and telecommunications engineering.


Every industry, institution & organization feels the need for an Electronics Engineers. Today’s world is very much for and of the Electronics & Communication Engineers. Advanced countries in the world have gone to such depths of Electronics today that an Electronics Engineer is indispensable in every front.

Almost all of the world’s major electronic industries have their R&D centres in India which provides ample opportunities for jobs in India and abroad. ECE course gives enormous job opportunities in both electronics and software companies. All electronic devices need software interfaces to run which are developed by ECE students. Electronics engineers are also absorbed into the entertainment, transmission industry, research establishments, and defence. It also gives ample opportunities for research and development, as everyday consumers need new devices to support them in daily life.
